UDI U818A- Best Value Bundle Deal. UDI makes a fantastic drone known as the U818A. While the controls on this drone are worth mentioning the best thing is all the add-ons. This model comes as a great value bundle making it one of the best drones under 100. The bundle comes with all the power you need: two batteries an external power bank and a two battery charger. Plus you get four extra drone blades a 4GB SD card and an SD card reader. All of these add-ons are necessary for the new drone pilot. This model has great maneuverability thanks to the 6-axis gyro feature. The gyro provides extra stability and wind resistance while also making the drone easier to control. Headless mode also helps to make directing the drone very simple.
Another technique is to attach a thin weighted line to the Drone so that when the Drone is close the operator simply grabs the line and "pull down" the Drone. New Drones include Optical Recognition cameras and software that should have the capability of landing the Drone in very windy conditions and onto a moving yacht or ship. Keep in mind that in windy conditions or if you are operating on a moving yacht or even a passenger cruise ship you may need to fly the Drone out in front of the yacht or ship and then let the Drone "drift" back into landing position while slowly bringing the Drone down to the deck. I witnessed a Drone operator attempting to land his Drone on a cruise ship that was moving at 20+ knots. Instead of employing the above technique the operator panicked because his Drone battery was running low (!!) and attempted to land the Drone by moving the Drone mid-ship and then flying the Drone sideways to land on the upper deck. The operator had absolutely no control trying to run sidewise in 20+ knots of wind and totally destroyed his $4000 drone when is crashed into the steel upper structure of the cruise ship!
Battery life matters also when making the decision of purchasing a drone. The battery life is going to determine the amount of time the drone can remain in the air. In addition to battery life you will have to take into account the charging time required by the drone to recharge its batteries. Ideally you should go for a drone that is capable of giving you at least 20 minutes of flight time and can be fully charged within half an hour. The controllable range is the farthest distance up to which you can remotely pilot your drone. Most drones have very limited controllable ranges meaning that you cannot take them out for long range flights. The advanced drones however have considerable controllable range and can be flown for long distances. Controllable range is an important consideration when buying drones for aerial photography as you would have to remain within this range when taking photos.
