Most people use drones for the purpose of taking photos. The drone itself doesnt take photos but it has a built-in camera mounted on it that is responsible for taking the images. The more advanced the camera is the more quality photos it should be able to take. However do remember that HD cameras can be very heavy so you will have to buy a heavier and more advanced drone if you intend to use it for the purpose of aerial photography or videography. Drones are aircraft and can easily be involved in accidents. All it takes is a wrong turn or a slight error of judgment to cause the drone to tumble to the ground. Most lightweight drones fall a lot and thus require replacement parts like rotor blades extra batteries propellers and gears to get back into the air. Thus availability of spare parts is another important consideration that you have to keep in mind when buying small drones.
Another technique is to attach a thin weighted line to the Drone so that when the Drone is close the operator simply grabs the line and "pull down" the Drone. New Drones include Optical Recognition cameras and software that should have the capability of landing the Drone in very windy conditions and onto a moving yacht or ship. Keep in mind that in windy conditions or if you are operating on a moving yacht or even a passenger cruise ship you may need to fly the Drone out in front of the yacht or ship and then let the Drone "drift" back into landing position while slowly bringing the Drone down to the deck. I witnessed a Drone operator attempting to land his Drone on a cruise ship that was moving at 20+ knots. Instead of employing the above technique the operator panicked because his Drone battery was running low (!!) and attempted to land the Drone by moving the Drone mid-ship and then flying the Drone sideways to land on the upper deck. The operator had absolutely no control trying to run sidewise in 20+ knots of wind and totally destroyed his $4000 drone when is crashed into the steel upper structure of the cruise ship!
Well thats exactly what makes this sport even more enjoyable and worth being a part of. Since the sport of drone racing is increasing in popularity all over the world the latest drones come equipped with specialized goggles that allow the user to experience the entire flight through his or her eyes. The first thing to do before you actually are a part of such a sporting event is to buy a racing drone. You might already have guessed that not all drones qualify for drone racing. These specialized aerial machines are also known as multi-rotor drones; they move faster than normal drones and are also much more stable. They are also smaller than a drone made for some other purpose such as surveillance mapping or data acquisition. There is a standard on size when it comes to a racing drone because it has to move in various kinds of situations overtake other machines flying nearby and overcome obstacles.
